Today Volvo and the China Golf Association announced that the 2017 Volvo China Junior Match Play Championship will be staged at the Dunes at Shenzhou Peninsula in Hainan Island during November 7th to 10th.

It is the first time that this leading junior golf event of China held in Hainan Province, also the first time the event held in November since 2005.


The debute of Volvo China Junior Match Play Championship in Hainan will be staged at one of the top golf courses in Hainan, even in China. The Dunes, a 36-hole golf course with an additional 5 practice holes has been thoughtfully designed by internationally-renowned Tom Weiskopf to make the most of the distinctive geography and dramatic beauty of this unique location - from the rugged coastal dunes to the strong, craggy boulders. The unique native bunker style has also been designed to blend in with natural surroundings and made to look like it has always been there for centuries.

32 top junior golfers from all over the country, selected based on the R&A Amateur Ranking and CGA Junior Ranking, will compete in four rounds of match play in Boy's and Girl's Group. Same as ever, the Boy's Winner will gain a precious spot in the 2018 Volvo China Open and the Girl's Champion will be invited to play in the Pro-Am of 2018 Volvo China Open. 

Founded in 2005, the Volvo China Junior Match Play Championship has developed as one of the top junior golf event in China. In the past 12 years, many of the elite Chinese junior players has stepped on the world-class tournament via winning the championship, include Li Hao Tong, Dou Ze Cheng and Jin Cheng.
