Indeed, Volvo in Sponsorship is a joint venture between Volvo Cars, owned by the Ford Motor Company and Volvo Group, the heavy automotive business headquartered in Gothenburg in Sweden.

Volvo Cars
Volvo Cars are built in three countries, Gothenburg in Sweden, Ghent in Belgium and since 2006 in Chongqing in China; founded in 1927, Volvo Cars is now firmly placed amongst the world’s leading premium car brands.
Employing around 25,000 staff worldwide, Volvo Cars produced 458,323 cars in 2007, an increase of 7.1% on the previous year, thanks largely to the introduction of the all-new Volvo C30 and the new Volvo V70, Volvo XC70 and Volvo S80 models.
The flagship of the fleet, the Volvo XC90 is the highest-selling car in the range with almost 80,000 sold in 2007 and has won many awards worldwide whilst the Volvo S40 and Volvo V50 both sell over 60,000 vehicles each year.
Once again, Volvo Cars China will be providing a fleet of courtesy cars to transport players and VIP’s between the Crowne Plaza Park View Wuzhou Hotel and the Beijing CBD International Golf Club as well as pick-ups from and drop-offs at Beijing International Airport.
